Vice President, Clinical Services

Connie Goodman, LPC is vice president, clinical services. She is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the clinical service division, and training and supervision of the clinical staff. She also works in collaboration with the chief clinical officer in development and maintenance of clinical policies and procedures.

In addition, under the guidance of the BHS medical director, Ms. Goodman oversees care management activities including acute patient care needs. She participates in the bi-weekly medical team conferences to ensure care management for both inpatient and outpatient cases. She is instrumental in maintaining BHS’ 96+% patient satisfaction rate.

Before joining BHS, Ms. Goodman’s clinical experience included serving as a family counselor with Impact Family Counseling. In her work, she provided individual, couples and family counseling using cognitive-behavioral and client-centered therapy techniques. Additionally, she facilitated in-school and on-site group counseling for adults and students involving topics such as divorce, pregnancy, anger management and life skills.

Ms. Goodman also has experience in the treatment of substance abuse. Serving as a counselor at a substance abuse treatment center, Ms. Goodman conducted client intake sessions to assess clients’ psychosocial histories as well as eligibility for methadone maintenance treatment. She also facilitated weekly group counseling centered on substance abuse to provide support for patients meeting their goals of maintaining stability in treatment and/or becoming drug-free.

Ms. Goodman completed her undergraduate work at ­­­Auburn University and obtained her master’s of counseling degree in community counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is licensed as a licensed professional counselor.
